Development of a lunar phase laser rangefinder
Project description
Implementation of the flagship scientific project on the basis of the Moscow State University Traffic Police on the laser location of the Moon to study the stochastic gravitational background. The key task is to create a phase laser rangefinder on the basis of the Kislovodsk Mountain Observatory. The project is aimed at fundamental research, but it also has practical applications — monitoring objects up to 40,000 km high orbits.
Target outcome
Creation of an experimental sample of a lunar phase laser rangefinder for fundamental research of the nature of gravitational waves and practical application — position monitoring and visual identification of any objects in near-Earth space.
Stage
Development of an advance design and a detailed technical specification for the creation of a laser installation.
