Students from Sevastopol won the "Luna Mission" competition with a lunar base project

Student Team
Sevastopol State University became the winner of the competition
"Space Cup: The Moon Mission", organized by the scientific and technical guild
"Frontiers of Science". The participants developed web-based solutions for planning
the construction of a base on a natural satellite of the Earth.
According to the results of the competition, the first
place was taken by the 3Dev team (Sevastopol State
University), receiving the main prize of 150 thousand rubles. The second place
went to the MoonBaseCore team (MADI), its participants were awarded 100,000 rubles.
The bronze medalist was the Moon Tilda team (Prokopiev Mining
College), which received 50 thousand rubles.
The competition started on February 1 and
gathered 482 applications from all over Russia — from the Far East to the European part
of the country. The organizers were the Frontiers of Science Guild in cooperation with the IT-Planet Center
for the Development of Innovative Technologies as part of the IT-Planet 2025 International Olympiad
. The event was supported by the Ministry of Digital
Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education of the Russian Federation.
The competition was aimed at creating
tools for the development of a base in the area of the South Pole of the Moon, an area
attractive because of the deposits of water ice. The participants had to develop
web-based solutions that take into account the interconnection of infrastructure facilities,
security requirements and functionality of the future lunar settlement.
Galina Malygina, co-founder of the Frontiers
of Science Guild, noted the high level of work presented:
The finalists' projects demonstrate high professionalism and a creative approach to solving problems. The works of the finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to be finalized within our guild, which fully corresponds to our tasks and goals — to support fundamental science and deep space research.
The guild added that support
young developers and the implementation of their ideas in promising technological
projects is one of the priorities of the organization.
