Ilya Cech suggested focusing on fundamental projects and enabling private technology companies to work on Roscosmos projects.

At a meeting of the Council for Innovation and Technological Development of the UNITED RUSSIA Party with the participation of Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos, and industry representatives, the founder of the Frontiers of Science Guild Ilya Cech has come up with a number of initiatives to develop the space industry. The main focus is on the involvement of private business and the launch of large-scale scientific projects.

 

Key initiatives of the Frontiers:

• The National Space Cluster (jointly with Roscosmos and the Skolkovo Foundation). The platform will bring together the best technology and manufacturing companies to accelerate the implementation of the national Space project. Tasks: transfer of part of the technological tasks to private contractors, verification of participants, attraction of investors and development of measures to support manufacturers.

• The reusable rocket project is a project of a private investor, JoyCity Space, which is a partner of the Guild and a member of the Lagrange club for investors and patrons. It is proposed to create a full-cycle company for the development of ultralight and light class launch vehicles. The volume of private investments is more than 20 billion rubles over 10 years. The goal is to provide sovereign and budget access to space through a flexible private model. The project should also become a "personnel magnet", retaining young engineers by analogy with successful foreign examples.

• Fundamental science for young people. Launching ambitious projects as a point of attraction for talents. Among them: the MSU-270 orbital telescope for studying exoplanets and an experimental laser rangefinder for locating the Moon and monitoring objects in near-Earth space.
