At the P.K. Sternberg State Astronomical Institute (GAISH) Lomonosov Moscow State University has launched the All-Russian Scientific Conference "Modern Astronomy: Science and Education 2025". The event is dedicated to the 270th anniversary of Moscow University. The conference is being held from June 23 to 27 in an in-person format with an online broadcast of the plenary sessions. The program includes a wide range of fields: stellar astronomy, galaxies, high—energy astrophysics and cosmology, physics of the Sun, Moon and planets, celestial mechanics, astrometry, gravimetry, as well as questions astronomical education and the history of science. Following the results of the event, it is planned to publish the works in the journal "Bulletin of Moscow University. Series 3. Physics. Astronomy".

According to the organizers, the support of such conferences is especially important in the current conditions, when Russian scientists face difficulties in publishing in foreign journals and participating in international conferences. Developing our own research sites and attracting the attention of the public and scientific media is becoming a priority.
