Ilya Chekh invests 100 million rubles in space technologies

Co-founder and former CEO of cyber-prosthetics developer Motorica, Ilya Chekh, has founded science & technology company Gravity Frontiers. The entrepreneur’s own investment starts at 100 million rubles, with plans to raise up to 4 billion rubles to support research and technology startups in the space sector.
Gravity Frontiers will focus on two areas: a microalgae-based bioreactor for life support on future lunar and Martian stations, and a laser complex for gravitational-wave studies. Bioreactor development is slated to begin in Q1 2025, with a three- to five-year timeline.
Beyond in-house projects, the company will invest in other startups and initiatives in space research and technology.
